Fowlers Yard is a historical group of buildings overlooking the River Wear in the centre of Durham, which have been refurbished as a unique development of nine creative workspaces for professional artists, craftspeople and creative businesses.
Here is based the studio of Tracy A. Franklin of 3 Fowlers Yard, Back Silver Street. Tracy acquired the studio in the summer of 2003, and with the help of a City and Arts Council grant, she was able to furnish it into an embroidery studio.
From the studio, Tracy works on designs, developing ideas, commission work and runs her own program of classes and courses. See Tracy's diary of events.
The studio is normally open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. However it is always best to check first before making a special trip.
