This website is a show case for sumptuous, exquisite fine embroidery, and innovative contemporary stitched textiles of both Tracy's work, and her many talented students.
Tracy is a freelance embroiderer, designer, artist, with a passion for traditional contemporary embroidery as an art form. Trained at the Royal School of Needlework in traditional embroidery techniques, and London College of Fashion in costume design/making, Tracy now runs her own business, based in her studio in Fowlers Yard by the river, in the heart of Durham City.
For sale in the studio, there is the whole range of Appleton crewel wools and some tapestry, DMC and Anchor stranded cottons, metal threads for gold work embroidery, including silver and copper, plus fabrics including calico, canvas and linen, and other specialist goods for hand sewing, as well as Tracy's books.
With Tracy's insight, experience and support to call upon, I am really amazed and delighted at my progress. More Testimonials >
Seriously we are very lucky to have such a specialised and highly skilled professional embroiderer in Durham City and my view is we should take advantage of what Tracy can offer us. More Testimonials >
I have always enjoyed hand stitching and when I saw the Certificate advertised, I knew it was for me and learnt four new techniques to a 'professional' standard, and have since continued onto the Diploma course. More Testimonials >
